Following the USTA National statement on racism in tennis earlier this summer, USTA South Carolina has launched Tennis Together SC, an effort to make meaningful change around race in tennis.
The initiative is three-pronged. First there is a series of videos of USTA South Carolina leaders stating their individual commitments to making tennis more accessible and safe for people of color.
There is a survey for anyone to share their thoughts on race and tennis in South Carolina.
Lastly, USTA South Carolina will host a webinar series to discuss racial barriers in tennis and ways to address them. The first virtual conversation will be held Wednesday, November 11 at 6:30 p.m. It is open to the public.
USTA South Carolina also invites its members to make and share their own commitment video, using the hashtag #TennisTogetherSC.
