Facilities across S.C. participate in Holiday Tennis Racquet Drive

The United States Tennis Association of South Carolina is coordinating a state-wide Holiday Tennis Racquet Drive, in which people can drop off new and lightly used adult and junior racquets at participating facilities.

Anyone can donate racquets. The deadline is January 15.

The equipment will go to people in need, including beginner players and South Carolina National Tennis & Learning (NJTL) chapters, which provide free or low-cost youth tennis, education and life skills programming.

Midlands residents can drop off racquets at Wildewood Country Club in Columbia;  Rawls Creek Tennis and Swim in Irmo; The Windermere Club in Blythewood; and Country Club of Lexington.

In the Lowcountry, drop-off boxes are located at Charleston Tennis Center and St. Andrew’s Parks and Playground in Charleston; Creekside Tennis and Swim Club and Snee Farm Country Club in Mount Pleasant; Live To Play Tennis (LTP) Mount Pleasant and LTP Daniel Island; Pine Forest Country Club in Summerville; and St. George Tennis Center.

In the Pee Dee region, people can donate racquets at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center, as well as Myrtle Beach Tennis Center, Grand Dunes Tennis Club and Dunes Golf and Beach Club in Myrtle Beach.

The Kroc Center in Greenville, Thorn Blade Country Club in Greer and the Rock Hill Tennis Center are also accepting equipment.
