USTA South Carolina Updates Mission Statement to Reflect Focus on Community Impact and Lifelong Play

The United States Tennis Association of South Carolina (USTA SC) is proud to announce an update to its organizational mission statement, reflecting a renewed focus on the health, well-being, and lifelong benefits that tennis brings to individuals and communities across the state.

Following a thorough review by the USTA South Carolina Governance Committee, the mission statement has been updated to:

“Our mission is to improve lives and build healthier communities in South Carolina by growing and promoting tennis as a lifelong sport.”

This updated mission captures the organization’s commitment to inclusivity, wellness, and community engagement through tennis.

“Our new mission reflects something powerful: tennis isn’t just a game—it’s a proven path to a healthier, more connected life. As the #1 healthiest sport, tennis helps people live longer, feel better, and stay engaged at every age. By promoting tennis across South Carolina, we’re not just building players—we’re building stronger communities and changing lives,” said USTA South Carolina Board President Linda Paige.

The revised mission will guide USTA South Carolina’s strategic initiatives, partnerships, and programming as the organization continues to make tennis accessible and welcoming for all.
