Hilton Head Island, S.C. – May 15th – 19th, 2025– Over 1,140 of the state’s top tennis players will take to the courts for the 2025 United States Tennis Association of South Carolina League State Championships, taking place May 15th through 19th on Hilton Head Island.

This annual event brings together the top 55/70 & Over Adult League teams from across South Carolina. Representing local tennis clubs, parks, recreation departments, and community organizations, these teams have earned their place by winning at the local level. Now, they’re competing for the chance to advance to the USTA League Sectional Championships and represent USTA South Carolina on a regional stage.

“We are thrilled to welcome over 1,140 players across two age divisions to Hilton Head Island. This tournament is a true testament to the fact that tennis is a sport for life, and we’re excited to kick off our first Championship of the year with such a dedicated group of players,” said PJ Fulmer, USTA South Carolina Director of Team Play & Tournament Director.

USTA League, the world’s largest recreational tennis league, was founded in 1980 with just 13,000 participants. Today, it serves more than 865,000 players nationwide, providing competitive play opportunities for adults of all ages and skill levels.

The 55/70 & Over State League Championship begins Thursday morning and concludes Monday afternoon. It is one of several state championship events hosted throughout the year by USTA South Carolina, each leading up to sectional and national competition.
