A volunteer of about 30 years, Don Moody is at the core of tennis in our state. In this interview, our Community Engagement Manager Pamela Banks talks with him about what’s at the heart of his service.
More about Don:
He lives in Belvedere, South Carolina. He serves on the USTA South Carolina Board as the West Area Director, representing Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Edgefield, McCormick and Orangeburg Counties.
Don is a certified USPTA Elite Professional, USPTR Professional, Tennis Performance Trainer (TPT), and Certified Tennis Performance Specialist (CTPS) via the International Tennis Performance Association (ITPA). Don has served the tennis community in various capacities to include Director of Grass Root Programs for MACH Academy Inc., City of Aiken Parks and Recreation Commissioner and serves on the Aiken Area Community Tennis Association Board of Directors (BOD) as well as the MACH Academy Inc BOD.
Don is a licensed Cardio Tennis provider.
His previous tennis experiences also include: Head Tennis Professional at Woodside Country Club and Houndslake CC. He also served as an assistant coach at South Aiken and Silver Bluff high schools. During his tenure as assistant coach for the South Aiken Boys Tennis Program, the team earned two state championships.
